IKAYA Strategic Focus

We build Africa-led tools to anticipate and shape global economic trends. Our flagship initiatives include the Africa Economic Sovereignty Index, geopolitical risk assessments, and macroeconomic forecasting models that integrate climate, demographic, and structural transformation variables. These tools support sovereign policy design across debt, climate finance, energy transition, taxation, food systems, and industrialization.

We strengthen Africa’s voice in global economic governance by producing African-led research and policy proposals that influence reforms in global financial, trade, tax, and debt systems. Through initiatives such as the Tripartite Trade & Investment Observatory, the Africa–Global Alliances and Partnerships Initiative, and the Kenneth Kaunda Economic Policy Dialogue, IKAYA convenes policymakers, civil society, youth, and the private sector to shape fairer, sovereignty-centered economic rules.

Africa’s future depends on a new generation of thinkers and practitioners. IKAYA invests in people through South–South knowledge exchanges, the Thomas Sankara Young Leaders Fellowship, and the Pan-African Feminist Research Hub. These platforms cultivate visionary leaders, deepen Pan-African economic thought, and ensure continuity of transformative ideas.
